PRIVATE ISTANBUL TOUR (3 DAYS)

This Private Guided Istanbul Tour is an ideal way to explore the city’s rich history, cultural heritage, and iconic landmarks in depth. Accompanied by a licensed professional guide, you will experience Istanbul’s imperial monuments, vibrant neighborhoods, and scenic viewpoints at a relaxed and comfortable pace.

DAY 1 : PRIVATE ISTANBUL OLD CITY TOUR

Meet your private tour guide at your hotel or port and begin your exploration of Istanbul’s Historic Peninsula.

Your 8-hour guided excursion starts with a visit to Hagia Sophia, one of the greatest masterpieces of Byzantine architecture and a symbol of both the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. For centuries, it was the largest church in the world and still boasts one of the largest domes globally, reflecting the extraordinary engineering of its era.

Continue to the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque), renowned for its striking blue İznik tiles, elegant domes, and harmonious proportions. Located directly opposite Hagia Sophia, it remains one of Istanbul’s most iconic religious landmarks.

The tour then proceeds to Topkapi Palace, the former imperial residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. Overlooking the Golden Horn, the palace complex includes peaceful courtyards, beautiful İznik tiles, and the famous Harem section, offering insight into the private life of the Ottoman court.

Next, visit the Hippodrome of Constantinople, built in 203 AD and once the center of Byzantine public life. Here you will see the Egyptian Obelisk, the Serpentine Column, the Column of Constantine, and the elegant German Fountain of Wilhelm II, each representing a different chapter of Istanbul’s long history.

Your day concludes with a visit to the Grand Bazaar, one of the world’s largest and oldest covered markets. With hundreds of shops selling carpets, spices, jewelry, and souvenirs, it offers a lively atmosphere and an excellent opportunity to experience traditional Istanbul commerce.

At the end of the tour, return to your hotel or port.

DAY 2 : PRIVATE ISTANBUL BOSPHORUS & CITY TOUR

After breakfast, continue your private guided tour focusing on Istanbul’s commercial life, imperial palaces, and Bosphorus coastline.

The day begins with a visit to the Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Market), located in the historic Fatih district. During the Ottoman period, goods imported from Egypt were sold here, and today the bazaar is filled with spices, teas, sweets, and local delicacies.

You then explore the Bosphorus Strait, the narrow waterway separating Europe and Asia and connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. Along the route, you will see the impressive Rumeli Fortress and Anadolu Fortress, built at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus, as well as magnificent Ottoman palaces, mosques, and waterfront mansions lining the shores.

Continue to Dolmabahce Palace, built in the 19th century as the administrative center of the late Ottoman Empire. Constructed on reclaimed land along the Bosphorus, the palace combines Ottoman tradition with European architectural styles. Its name comes from the Turkish words “dolma” (filled) and “bahçe” (garden).

Later, enjoy time on Istiklal Street, Istanbul’s most famous pedestrian avenue, full of shops, cafés, restaurants, and historic buildings. From here, walk toward the Tünel and Galata Tower area, one of the city’s most atmospheric districts.

Return to your hotel at the end of the tour.

DAY 3 : PRIVATE ISTANBUL CULTURAL & NEIGHBORHOOD TOUR

Today’s tour focuses on Istanbul’s religious heritage, historic neighborhoods, and local culture.

Begin with a visit to the Suleymaniye Mosque, designed by the legendary Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. More than just a mosque, it is a powerful historical symbol for the Turkish people and one of the finest examples of classical Ottoman architecture.

Continue to the Fener and Balat Districts, formerly home to Istanbul’s Greek Orthodox and Jewish communities. Today, these neighborhoods are known for their colorful yet timeworn houses, historic churches, and a vibrant atmosphere shaped by new cafés, art spaces, and local businesses.

Visit St. Stephen’s Church (Iron Church), the Bulgarian Orthodox Church located on the shores of the Golden Horn. Made entirely of cast iron, the church was produced in Vienna, transported along the Danube by barges, and assembled in Istanbul in 1871.

The tour concludes at Pierre Loti Hill, a popular leisure area offering stunning panoramic views over the Golden Horn. Named after the famous French novelist who spent much of his time here, the hill is reached by a scenic cable car ride and features a charming open-air café.

Return to your hotel at the end of the tour.
